Project Printkit (Anet A8)

My experience with the Anet A8

The Anet A8 is quite an exceptional 3D printer.
To be completely honest, there have been numerous amounts of times where I have been extremely frustrated with the Anet A8 but ultimately, it has been nothing more than such an excitement.

The Anet A8 comes with entirely separate parts in which the user has to construct entirely. Of course, as an overly eager person, I absolutely loved this challenge. I was able to learn about all of the different aspects of the 3D printer while being able to learn the various components and parts the Anet A8 comes with.

Before I commenced the build of the Anet A8, I read and watched tutorials and reviews of the 3D printer online. Many before had stated all the problems they had encountered, and how they had avoided it or fixed the problem. Throughout the build process, I really believe that my knowledge of the Anet A8 through online resources aided on how easily I could build and acknowledge the 3D printer.

The initial build process was extremely concise and straightforward. Despite hearing upcoming problems and issues, during the build process, I did not run into any problems which prevented me from advancing. With the build process, I made sure that I was patient with the build, crafting everything to the upmost perfection in which I have expected. This is the one advice I recommend everyone with interests to the Anet A8; to be patient and make sure every part is handled with care while not rushing any of the instructions. This has thus allowed my Anet A8 to surpass the quality of printed parts, others with the same printer had not been able to achieve.

Essential Upgrades

Glass Bed
Upon building the Anet A8 and after several test prints, I re-purposed a glass sheet to be the glass bed of my 3D Printer. I would consider this upgrade to be essential as it improves print quality while giving the base of the print, a glossy finish. Not only did the aesthetics of the prints improved, but I also was able to removed the finished print with minimal effort compared to other beds which needed a significant amount of additional force.

Z-Endstop Adjustment
The Z-Endstop on the Anet A8, even when tightly screwed in, slides around. This 3D printed adjustment allowed me to make slight adjustments extremely easily, unlike the original Z-Endstop acrylic holder. The original Z-Endstop mount has a tendency to slide around while being practically impossible to make minuscule adjustments.

Verdict

The knowledge I have gained through this project will allow me to fuel other projects, especially those which involves the use of a 3D printer. I would recommend the Anet A8 to anyone, though it might be more of a challenge, the younger you are.
